Brown, George T., age 66, of Wetzel Street, New Martinsville, WV, died Tuesday, August 31, 2010 at his home.
He was born January 4, 1944 in Maryland.
George volunteered with Meals on Wheels and helped clean the Lincoln Theater in New Martinsville. He was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church and lived with REM Community Options.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Marie Helmic.
Survivors include a sister, Mary Brown, of New Martinsville, and many friends.
Family will receive friends on Friday from 10:00 am until time of funeral service at 12:00 pm at Grisell Funeral Home & Crematory, 751 Third Street, New Martinsville, with Rev. David Snyder officiating.
Interment in Brock Cemetery, Wileyville, WV.

Rutter, June E., age 88 formerly of Meighen Ave. Moundsville, WV died Monday, August 30, 2010 in Mound View Health Care Center, Moundsville.
She was born November 8, 1921 in Littleton, WV the daughter of the late William Sanford and Clara Yost Higgins.
She was the manager of the former Murphy Mart Restaurant; a protestant by faith and devoted follower of her Lord; and a lifetime member of Ladies Eagles Auxiliary.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William T. Rutter; a daughter-in-law, Sue Rutter; and five sisters, Olive, Blanche, Ersel, Delores, and Delia.
Survivors include three sons, William (Karen) Rutter of Gulf Breeze, FL, A.D. (Lora) Rutter of Moundsville, and John Rutter of Summerville, SC; eight grandchildren, Billie Jo (Rick) Shock of Gulf Breeze, Dave (Missy) Rutter of Austin, TX, Scott (Lisa) Rutter of Pensacola, FL, Holly (Derek) Games of Gulf Breeze, Lisa (Joe) Guthrie of Hot Springs, AR, Jennifer (Chris) Wilson of Pasadena, MD, Jenny (Andy) Carpenter and Amy Rutter of Summerville; 20 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great- grandchildren.
Family will receive friends on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8pm at Grisell Funeral Home & Crematory, 400 Jefferson Avenue, Moundsville where funeral services will be held Friday at 1:30pm with Pastor Rodney Hubbs officiating.

Liniger, Esther Louise Christman, 80, of Clarington, Ohio, died Sunday, August 29, 2010 at the Woodsfield Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Woodsfield, Ohio.
She was born May 9, 1930 in Clarington, the daughter of the late Arthur and Helen Roberts Christman.
Esther was a member of the Clarington Church of Christ and in her earlier years had been a Sunday School teacher. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star Chapter #533 in Clarington; and had a poem published in 1983 in a National Poetry book. She was a devoted wife and mother and liked oil painting, water coloring, crocheting, arts and crafts.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Brenda Loy.
Survivors include her husband, Clifford G. Liniger; a daughter, Pamela (John) Burlingame of New Martinsville; a son, Randy Liniger of Clarington; a sister, Eleanor Powell of Clarington; a brother, Leland (Sue) Christman of Comanche, OK; three grandsons, John (Lisa) Wiggins of Surprise, AZ, Randy (Kara) Liniger of Mesa, AZ, and Paul Liniger of Squirrel Hills, PA; two granddaughters, Betsy Linger of Pittsburgh, PA and Tessa Liniger of Clarington; three great grandchildren, Brandon, Brooke and Brenna Liniger.
Family will receive friends on Tuesday from 6-8pm and also on Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8pm with Easter Star services at 7:30pm at Grisell Funeral Home, 125 Clarinda Drive, Clarington, where funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11am with Rev. Richard Wilson officiating.

Pefferman, Beatrice M., 96, of New Martinsville, WV, formerly of Pittsburgh, PA, died Friday, August 27, 2010 at the New Martinsville Care & Rehabilitation Center.
She was born June 19, 1914 in Pittsburgh, the daughter of the late Samuel and Emma Beech.
Beatrice was a retired secretary.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Philip A. Pefferman; and two brothers, Robert and Samuel Beech.
Survivors include several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services and internment will be held on Thursday, September 9, at 1:00pm at Homewood Cemetery Mausoleum, 1599 S. Dallas Avenue, Pittsburgh, with Rev. Matthew Azzoline officiating.

Fox, Delores J., age 71 of RD#2, Moundsville, WV died Friday, August 27, 2010 at home.
She was born November 24, 1938 in Waynesburg, PA the daughter of the late Leslie and Florence Hunnell Curfman.
She was a member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church; and an avid Bingo player.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Fox; four brothers, Lloyd, Glen, Duane, and Don Curfman; and a sister, Vivian Tedrow.
Survivors include a son, David (Bonnie) Fox of Moundsville; four daughters, Sandra (Stan) Willis of Tallahassee, FL, Mary (James) Stuckey, Donna (Gary) Snyder, and Rebecca (Edward) Williams, all of Moundsville; three brothers, Cecil Curfman of Fairview, WV, Eugene (Nancy) Curfman of Fisher, IL, and Kenneth Curfman of Holbrook, PA; two sisters, June (Allen) Phillips of Spragg, PA, and Faye Whipkey of Brave, PA; nine grandchildren, Melissa Thatcher, Jamie Stuckey, Christopher Stuckey, Joshua Snyder, Zachary Snyder, Jessica Willis, Elizabeth Fox, Samantha Fox, and Austin Williams; three great-grandchildren, Dakoyta, Kendall, and Owynn Thatcher; three step-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Gatts, Colten James, infant son of Andrew Gatts and Vicki Regiec of Glen Easton, WV died Wednesday, August 25, 2010 in WV Children’s Hospital, Morgantown.
He was born August 6, 2010.
He was preceded in death by an aunt, Vicki Lightner, and a great-grandfather, Kenneth Lightner.
In addition to his parents, survivors include his BIG BROTHER, Wyatt Gatts at home; maternal grandparents, Jim (Ginger) Regiec of Glen Easton; paternal grandparents, Ralph (Bonnie) Gatts of Moundville; two uncles, Frankie Regiec of Glen Easton, and Aaron (Cindy) Gatts of Ohio; an aunt, Amy (Curt) Grimes of Sistersville, WV; and great grandparents, Jim (Regina) Regiec of Moundsville, and Jannet Lightner of Glen Easton; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Interment in Regiec Family Cemetery, Glen Easton.

Robinson, Michael R. age 55, of Moundsville, died Saturday, August 21, 2010 in Reynolds Memorial Hospital.
He was born October 8, 1954 in Glen Dale, the son of the late Ralph and Jean Powell Robinson.
He was a carpenter, US Marine veteran, Methodist by faith, loved fishing, and collecting arrowheads.
Survivors include three sons Mikey Robinson of Moundsville, Jeremy Robinson of Cameron, Chris (Stacy) Robinson of Sherrard; two brothers Dan (Joanne) Robinson, Ron “Robin” (Connie) Robinson all of Ft. Worth, TX; a sister Marqueita “Keta” Lilley of Moundsville; a half-brother Charles Robinson of Ohio; seven grandchildren Nina Marie Robinson, Bailey Ann Robinson, Abbey Nicole Robinson, Hunter Michael Robinson, Chase Maverick Robinson, Peyton Lane Robinson, Deanna Elizabeth Robinson, several nieces and nephews.
Family will receive friends Tuesday from 6-9pm and Wednesday from Noon until the time of service at 1:00pm at Grisell Funeral Home and Crematory, 400 Jefferson Ave., Moundsville, where the Marines will perform military services.

Canary, Carol A., age 68, of The Villages, Florida, formerly of New Martinsville, WV, died Friday, August 20, 2010 at The Villages Regional Hospital in Florida.
She was born June 18, 1942 in New Martinsville, the daughter of the late Charles Mifflin and Helen Marie Lemon Walker.
Carol was a retired County Executive Director for the U.S. Dept. of Agriculture; a member of St. Timothy Catholic Community in Lady Lake, FL; and a former member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in New Martinsville.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Charlie Morris; a son, Chris Morris; a brother, Charles Walker; an aunt, Joan Higginbotham; and an uncle, William E. Lemon.
Survivors include her husband, Patrick Canary; a daughter, Charlanne (David) Morris-Graham of Salinas, CA; a granddaughter, Haviland Graham of Salinas; four step children, Patsi Jones, Jennie Canary and Ben Canary, all of Orlando, FL and Cathy Soranio of Atlanta, GA; three step grandchildren, Riley Canary, Liam Jones and Lennon Jones, all of Orlando; and a sister-in-law, Judy (Tom) Malak of Rock Hill, SC.
Family will receive friends on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8pm at Grisell Funeral Home & Crematory, 751 Third Street, New Martinsville.
Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated on Friday at 10am at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 21 Rosary Road, New Martinsville with Fr. Christopher Turner as celebrant.

Zink, Xlee Rafferty, age 90 of Bend, OR, formerly of McMechen and Glen Dale, WV died Wednesday, August 18, 2010 in Partners In Care Hospice House, Bend.
She was born December 31, 1919 in McMechen, the daughter of the late Basil and Mona Sharp Rafferty.
She was a former employee of the McMechen Library and Water Department; a member of First Church of God, McMechen, where she was the former secretary and historian; a member of Benwood-McMechen Women’s Club; Reynolds Memorial Hospital Auxiliary; member and secretary of WV Club in Coral Springs, FL; volunteered at Deschutes County Untied Way; and was a former Deputy Sheriff in Marshall County.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Watson L. Zink; two brothers, Jack and Paul Rafferty; and a niece, Paula Jean Rafferty.
Survivors include a daughter, Sharon (Allen) Braemer of Sunriver, OR; two sisters-in-law, Mary Rafferty of FL, and Imogene Zink Peabody of GA; and a nephew and five nieces.
Graveside Services and Interment will be held Friday, August 27th at 3pm at Greenlawn Cemetery, Moundsville with Dave Fox officiating.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, August 28th at 2pm at First Church of God, 1003 Logan Ave., McMechen with Rev. Arnie Kaufman officiating.

He was born August 14, 1932 in New Matamoras, Ohio, the son of the late Clarence and Bessie Beaver Minger.
He was a stenographer for American Electric Power, a US Army veteran of Korea, and a member of the Nazarene Church.
Survivors include a close friend Herb J. Follas; three sisters Phylis (Dick) Tuel, Ruth “Bonnie” (Emerson) Krieg, and Beverly (Eddy) Williamson; three nephews and three nieces Mark, Rhonda, Melissa, Bryan, Brent, and Marcee.

Potts, Martha L. Reynolds, age 82, of Sardis, Ohio, died Thursday, August 19, 2010 at Reynolds Memorial Hospital, Glen Dale, WV.
She was born August 23, 1927 in Sardis, the daughter of the late Ralph and Clara Holtsclaw Reynolds.
She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Martha was a homemaker; a member of Duffy Church of Christ; Duffy VFW Ladies Auxiliary; and a member of the Sardis Community Club and Lights Committee.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wilson “Nick” Potts Sr. on April 4, 1987; two brothers, Charles and Elmer Reynolds; and five sisters, Helen Greene, Juanita Bolen, Margaret Price, Della Fagert and Mary Crawford.
Survivors include a son, Nick (Dee) Potts of New Martinsville, WV; five daughters, Bonnie (Jerry) Sands of New Martinsville, Vonna Jean (Terry) Simcox of Martins Ferry, Ohio, Deborah (Mike) Herrick of Hannibal, Ohio, Brenda (Doc) Beegle of Sardis, and Jill (Harold) Neely of Copperas Cove, TX; two brothers, Ralph “Bud” (Willa Mae) Reynolds of Naverre, Ohio and Harold Reynolds of Wooster, Ohio; a sister, Madonna (Don) Arman of Florida; 16 grandchildren 12 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Miller, Don E., age 81, of Venice, Florida, formerly of New Martinsville, WV, passed away on July 31, 2010.
He was born on June 7, 1929 in New Martinsville and attended West Liberty State College in Wheeling, WV. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served during World War II and the Korean Conflict. He owned Quality Aluminum Products in New Martinsville for 47 years. He was a 50-year member of the New Martinsville United Methodist Church, friend of the Salvation Army in Moundsville, WV, 50-year member of the Loyal Order of Moose, V.F.W., American Legion, Moundsville Golf & Country Club and Myakka Pines Golf Club in Englewood, Florida.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Josephine; daughter, Donna Snyder of Venice; sisters, Gloria Nice of Proctor, WV, Willa Mae Reynolds of Brewster, Ohio; a brother, Lloyd Miller of New Martinsville, WV and a granddaughter, Emily Snyder of Sarasota, Florida. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his sisters, Mary Louise, Margaret and a brother, William.
The family would like to thank his home care providers, Evelyn, Dianne, Kristi, Sally and Emily.
A memorial service to honor Don’s life will be held on Tuesday, August 17, 2010 at 11:00am at the New Martinsville United Methodist Church with interment to follow at Northview Cemetery where military graveside services will be conducted by the Sistersville VFW Combined Honor Guard.

A graveside service was held at 3 p.m. on August 17 at Greenlawn Memorial Park in New Martinsville.

She was born January 16, 1928 in Herndon, WV.
Ruby was a member of the First Church of God in New Martinsville, WV. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister. She loved to grow flowers, bake, sew, and especially loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William T. and Isabelle Stedams Justice.
Survivors include her husband, Berton Earle Thomas, whom she married on July 24, 1948; a daughter, Debra (John) Antill of Sardis, Ohio; two grandchildren, Christy Eikleberry and Tony (Jamie) Delili; five great grandchildren, Megan Eikleberry, Brandon Delili, Conner Delili, Emma Jewels Delili and Chase Delili; two sisters, Dorothy (David) Hunter of Orlando, FL and Lorene Bellomy of Fayettesville, NC; two brothers, Vernon (Mabel) Justice of Cleveland, Ohio and Larry (Ruth) Justice of Columbia Station, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.

Valko,. William “Bill” K., age 80, of Sun Valley, Glen Dale, died Monday, August 9, 2010 at Wheeling Hospital Medical Park.
He was born January 5, 1930 in Roscoe, Pennsylvania, the son of the late John and Katherine Schimchick Valko.
He was a retired educator, coach, and counselor from John Marshall High School, a U.S. Army Airbourne veteran of the Korean War, a member of Glen Dale United Methodist Church, a member of the American Legion, McMechen, Marshall County Coaches Association, WVU Lettermen’s Club, and WVEA of Marshall County, served on the Board of Directors for the BM Spurr School of Nursing, and assisted with the OVAC wrestling tournaments.
In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Hollister Valko, and a nephew, Michael Valko.
Survivors include two daughters, Karen (Bill) Slonaker, of Moundsville, and Jennifer Valko, of Glen Dale; a brother, John (Jean) Valko of San Antonio, TX; three grandchildren, Josh, Alix, and Nicole.

She was an employee of the former US Stamping and Allied-Solvay Chemical; a member of the Hillview Church of Christ and the Pythias Sisters in Moundsville.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded by two sisters Mae Torrie and Agnes Sole; and two brothers Glen Williams and Clem Williams.
Survivors include a very special friend Garland Minor of Wellsburg, WV; three daughters Barbara J. (Danny) Booth of Huntersville, NC, Mary B. Brinkman of Pflugerville, TX, and Debbie R.
